There is a wide range of emotions that are conjured up when someone is about to enter drug or alcohol treatment. Most people are frightened because they have no idea what to expect. They are also anxious, hopeful and worried about what kind of person they will be without their drug of choice. One thing that they shouldn’t have to think about is money. It’s no secret that professional substance abuse treatment costs money, but it’s also true that a quality insurance policy will help defer most or all of the associated costs.
SummaCare takes this subject seriously, and has allowed for substance abuse treatment in several of its health insurance plans.

SummaCare Insurance & Rehab Coverage
SummaCare is a health plan that is a provider-owned and provides drug and alcohol rehab for members. The SummaCare headquarters are in Akron, Ohio and the company has been in operation since the 1990s. In the beginning, SummaCare was just a regional provider and even though the original intention was for it to stay that way, it has grown into a national entity. Today, SummaCare provides health plans that meet the needs of a diverse set of members around the country. Its network includes more than 7,000 doctors operating out of 50 hospitals.
If you or a family member are having troubles with substance abuse, SummaCare does offer coverage. Some of the details include 70% inpatient coverage for non-biologically based mental health and substance abuse disorders, and 50% outpatient coverage with a $40 copay. Non-biological alcohol abuse treatment has $550 available for each calendar year, although every type of coverage is subject to conditions.
How Much Rehab Insurance Coverage Do You Have?
Even though SummaCare offers quality substance abuse treatment coverage as part of its health insurance plans, there are details to work through that can add confusion. Things like the length of time you’ll need to be in treatment, the type of treatment required, the type of addiction and deductible can all play a part in modifying your coverage. We can help you sort through the complexities of your plan and verify your approval, in order to begin treatment as soon as possible, and with a few distractions as possible.
