Treating Valium Addictions and Preventing Relapse
Valium, generic name; Diazepam, is a drug belonging to the family of drugs known as benzodiazepine. Valium is prescribed to treat anxiety, insomnia, seizures as well as other problems. Valium was the top selling pharmaceutical in the United States from 1969 to 1982, reaching its’ peak in 1978. Valium, as with other benzodiazepines, can cause tolerance, physical and psychological dependence and addiction. Withdrawal from Valium is much like withdrawal from alcohol as well as barbiturates. A slow and gradual dose reduction regime is suggested for the individual detoxing from Valium. As with detoxing from Xanax and other benzodiazephines, an attempt at immediate discontinuation of Valium (cold turkey) can be dangerous and could possibly cause seizures. Beachway Therapy Center provides a safe setting and will assist with alleviating the symptoms of withdrawals from Valium.

Treatment For Valium Addiction
Beachway Therapy Center provides different options and many services for the treatment of Valium addiction. Beachway has professional counselors and therapists on staff. Our staff is highly skilled and experienced with the treatment of Valium and other types of addiction. Our staff conducts group and individual counseling as well as continued after care to aid with the maintenance of the individuals’ recovery. We offer Residential as well as Outpatient Treatment.
Residential Treatment
Residential treatment at Beachway is provided in an apartment type setting. The resident is provided with around the clock care. The intensive nature of this treatment may be necessary for those with a severe addiction to Valium. Residential Rehab affords the individual both time and distance from life’s rigors and allows for a much narrower focus on recovery and treating the addiction of Valium. Beachway’s residential rehab offers medical testing, an array of group counseling sessions, exercise and recreation, back to work planning, relapse prevention and sober living skills.
Outpatient Treatment
The Outpatient Treatment program at Beachway offers the individual the option of attending the Valium Rehab Program during the day and returning home or to one of our Sober Living Facilities. This option is for the individual who may not have a life threatening level of addiction to Valium, and who may have to attend school or work. All of the assets of Beachway are available to the Outpatient as well. Beachway Therapy Center can be your way back to a productive, joyous life in recovery.
