HOW DO YOU OVERCOME VICODIN ADDICTION?
Prolonged use of opiate drugs creates extreme physical dependence of the central nervous system. Eventually, the brain will fail to produce their natural opiates, endorphins, as it is receives this chemical from an outside source (ex: Roxy, Oxy, Heroin, Vicodin, Morphine). The central nervous system will become completely dependent on this outside supply of opiate drugs. Once the opiate addict stops ingesting Vicodin, the withdrawal symptoms become unmanageable.
In order to overcome a physical addiction to Vicodin, it is advised to work with an opiate rehab center. First, they offer opiate detox along with medical aid that alleviates the withdrawal symptoms. This is necessary to break the physical dependence of opiate drugs. Then, professional counselors and therapists hold one-on-one sessions, or group sessions, to discuss and teach the psychological aspect of the addiction. An overwhelming amount of evidence suggests that understanding the root of the addiction will increase the success of overcoming it, and maintain a life of sobriety.
TYPES OF VICODIN REHAB
There are two types of Vicodin Rehab Centers: Residential, or Outpatient:
Outpatient Vicodin Rehab
Individuals in our South Florida outpatient facility will attend treatment meetings during the day and then either return home or to our sober living facility in the evening. This method is advised to those who may not have a life threatening form of opiate addiction. At Beachway Therapy Center’s outpatient rehab, we will treat the client’s medical needs along with their psychological, social, behavioral, emotional and spiritual needs. We help our clients become fully functioning, crime-free, sober individuals, and contributing members of society.
Residential Vicodin Rehab
The individual moves into a room which is set-up similar to a dorm while receiving care 24/7. This type is ideal for an individual who may have a more severe addiction problem. It helps to relieve any day-to-day pressures, so that the addict can focus primarily on their recovery. It offers medical exams, psychological exams, psychiatric consultations, individual sessions with a doctor, individual counseling, group therapy, men’s therapy, women’s groups, medication management, exercise and recreation, back to work planning, relapse prevention and sober living skills.
A Vicodin addiction left untreated is life threatening. If you believe that you, or a loved one, may be suffering an opiate addiction, please contact the Beachway Therapy Center or call 1-877-284-0353.
