For many independent callers to the The Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center confidential warm-line, clinical information is gathered during the initial call to determine tentatively whether the consumer is appropriate for addiction services with The Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center or our other affiliated centers. There are several reasons for this. Helpline staff doing a brief phone assessment with the potential guest generally completes the initial telephone call. This call typically takes about ten minutes. Once completed the following can be more appropriately determined:

1. That The Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center Program; alternative traditional Drug and Alcohol Rehab is the appropriate service and level of care based on the consumer’s specific needs.

2. The phone call gives our staff an opportunity to not duplicate questions and to prepare themselves for the details they will need from the consumer at the time of the admission intake. The goal is to make the intake process less intrusive and less time consuming for the guest.

3. It places in the hands of the clinical staff that will be treating the consumer the necessary information about the individual's needs prior to their actual arrival at their recovery center of choice. This will give clinical staff a clearer idea of where to begin treatment with the guest.
