What is The Last Resort
Real Life Private Recovery Program?
The Last Resort Real Life Recovery Program is an individualized private personalized recovery program that guarantees results. It is an alternative to the traditional drug and/or alcohol rehab programs. A recovery facilitator will work with you to mold a recovery direction plan with you. You will begin to develop the skills necessary for a recovered life i.e. social supports, accountability, interpersonal communications, vocational skills, socialization skills, therapy linkage, and more.
Why choose an Individualized
Private Recovery Program?
Traditional rehabs range from
15 to 50 or more patients at a time. Group education and therapy
as well as individual therapy are the norm. The day is full of
activities from morning until evening. Private paying folks are
mixed with those in government programs. The professional or business
owner will be coupled or roomed with a homeless drug abuser.
The needs of both patients
are different. For the entrepreneur or professional having time
for business, recovery, communication with family, as well as treatment
must be balanced. Traditional rehabs do not allow for outside
contact or business responsibilities. The Last Resort private
recovery program offers the individual a customized game plan for success
and a balanced approach to address all areas of life including business.
The Last Resort allows guests to utilize cell phones and computers while
other centers do not!

For well over twenty years
I have been living a life of successful recovery. My journey began
in 1980. For nearly eight years harm reduction was my goal.
Long periods of abstinence followed by short bursts of tolerable use.
But in 1988, I finally surrendered to the concept of total abstinence.
Over the years I have developed
a skill set that is easily implemented in four simple phases:
1. Admission, the decision making process an individual applies to admit that they want to change.
a) Decide.
b) Commit.
c) Take action.
2. Set a clear path, a direction plan.
3. Clean out the dirty laundry.
4. Focus, Forgive and Fulfill.
The simple steps laid
out here are not one man’s opinion or theory. They are time
tested and work 100% of the time.
Yes, 100% of the time. They are proven approaches
to life situations and challenges. They are universally applicable
steps that work and work well! These steps are modeled for the
guest in “Real Life” situations. We call this process “shaping”
recovery. How much do you actually learn sitting in a classroom
or group setting? Do you think you learn more taking notes or
actually “DOING” a given task or strategy? I believe
that real life recovery starts immediately!
Typical Itinerary:
Module One: Homeostasis renewal, time to regroup physically and mentally.
The objective is to get your mind and body to some semblance of normalcy.
The individual spends most of the time resting with no outside influences or potential triggers.
You will learn and implement the daily disciplines of recovery.
Module Two: Psycho-Educational work, basically learning the concepts and
tools of recovery. The guest will begin to attend social events,
the beach, a pool, maybe a movie with a facilitator. The
guest will complete a music video of life experiences and feelings.
Module Three: Stepping
Out, the real work begins, a focus on life challenges, development of
direction plan, implementing recovery principles and strategies.
Learning the recovery steps of self-development and implementing them.
Module Four: Planning
phase, setting sites on vocational endeavors, goals, desires, and developing
a spiritual foundation.
